As part of the finishing process, the garment is pre-washed (also known as one-wash) to minimize shrinkage. Toyoda (Toyota) Automatic Loom GL-3 (GL3)
An Early Japanese Power Loom
The GL-3 was manufactured by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works in the 1950s and is considered one of the earliest motorized shuttle looms used in Japan. Production was limited, and only a small number were ever made, which makes surviving machines extremely rare.
Difficult to Maintain
Since replacement parts are no longer produced, maintenance is only possible by salvaging components from other discarded GL-3s. Skilled craftsmen are required to keep them running, and the machines can easily fall out of operation without constant attention.
Slow Weaving Speed
A GL-3 can weave only about 5 meters of fabric per hour - far slower than modern high-speed looms. This makes it highly inefficient from an industrial perspective, but perfect for creating unique, small-batch fabrics.
Why It is Called a "Phantom Loom"
The GL-3 produces denim with a rough, uneven texture that modern high-speed looms cannot replicate. Its rarity and the unique character of the fabrics it creates have earned it the nickname "phantom loom."

･ Be cautious of color transfer from friction
During wear, color may transfer to other garments, bags, chairs, or surfaces due to friction. Please take extra care when combining with light-colored or white items.
･ Washing instructions
The dye may transfer to other items during washing, so we recommend washing separately. To prevent color fading, especially in areas prone to rubbing, turn the garment inside out before washing. Avoid scrubbing and let it air dry naturally. Repeated washing will gradually stabilize the color fading.
･ Be mindful of water and sweat
Exposure to moisture from sweat or rain can cause color transfer. If the fabric becomes damp, color fading and transfer are more likely to occur.

Lay the clothing flat and measure 3 cm under the armhole. Measure from side to side
Body Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from base of collar seam (excluding collar) down to the end of the hem
Sleeve Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from center back of base of collar seam to the end of the cuff
Shoulder Width
Lay the clothing flat and measure shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Lay Jeans/Pants flat, face up and do not stretch or pull fabric.
Waist
Measure flat across the back waistband from one side to the other with the natural dip. Double the number to get actual waist size.
