This sashiko jacket is made in japan and produced by studio d'artisan (studio dartisan). Studio d'artisan is a modern denim label established in 2006, based in kojima, okayama, japan, where is the birth place of Japanese domestic jeans. Studio D'artisan's products are introduced Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary elements into american classic clothing making. The pattern construction of this jacket is modeled after vintage Lee 101 Storm Rider Jacket with the classic western/cowboy design, but this jacket has been re-designed with the Studio D'artisan's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Studio D'artisan. The fabric of this jacket is made up of 2 layers. This modern jacket is constructed from a heavy duty Sashiko fabric outer shell with blanket lining in body and quilt lining in sleeves for comfort and added warmth. And this jacket has been overdyed with a natural dye from plant to create natural earth tone color that have been inherited from ancient japan. And this natural plant dyed sashiko jacket features a front closure with six metal buttons, corduroy collar, slanted front yoke, zig-zag top-stitching along the center front placket, twin flap chest pockets with a button closure and an adjustable waistband. This product is made for Japanese market and made for Japanese clothing sizes. And this earth tone sashiko jacket is originally intended to wear as a modern fit (Not too slim or Not too loose) with short in the body length and slightly tapered in the waist for a more fashion-forward looks. This Kusaki Zome Easterner jacket is new original creations by Studio D'artisan.

Natural plant dyes have been used since olden times in japan as a way to incorporate the beautiful colours of nature into lifestyles. Natural dyes from plants have been used for more than one thousand years ago. This item is one of the Studio D'artisan natural dyes collection. This item has been garment dyed with a natural dye (overdying with natural plant dye) to recreate natural colors that have been inherited from ancient japan. Natural dyes also reacts to sunlight, so the colour changes slowly with time and sun exposure. And with wear and wash the natural-dyed fabric will fade to create a unique personalized garment. However, traditional technique of natural dyeing have disappeared because of the fast-paced consumer society. Studio D'artisan offer natural dye item to revive the wisdom of our ancestors who coexisted with nature.
Outer shell fabric : 100% cotton Japanese sashiko fabric. This base fabric has been running-stitched with thread. Sashiko (little stabs or little pierce), a Japanese traditional running stitch technique, is originally used to reinforce fabric, but was also highly valued for its decorative beauty. Sashiko fabric is known for its unmatched durability, and is widely used in protective gear for Judo, Kendo, and Aikido arts. This fabric has an uneven surface and ruggedly texture from cotton fibers. It combines the toughness and the natural softness for comfort.
Lining shell for body : This sashiko jacket is lined with striped blanket lining with a wool blend fabric for torso to retains heat and protect you from the cold. The blanket lining in the body stay warm but do not like bulky puffer jackets. Suitable for fall and mild winter seasons.
Lining shell for sleeves : Made of 100% polyester satin. Diamond quilted lining for sleeves. The lining for sleeves is smooth and sleek so you can take the jacket off and put it on easily.
Dyeing : This jacket has been overdyed with "Kusaki zome (Natural dye from plant in English), a traditional Japanese dyeing technique to create natural colors that have been inherited from ancient japan. And the jacket results in an overall tastefully austere natural earth tone color shade. Garment dye (overdye) is a dyeing process performed on finished garments. Garment-Dye means the jacket is made, then dyed. Garment-dyed jacket results in a rustic color and broken-in feel. This process gives the garment a traditional Japanese style and look. And it has a fashionable vintage feel and look due to the light puckering of the stitching. And will change over time with wear and wash. And the fabric has a faded texture reminiscent of vintage workwear. This earth tone can create a warm, nature-friendly atmosphere. Pre washed, minimal shrinkage.
Types of garment closure (Placket type) : 6 buttons on front opening with zig-zag topstitching on the center front placket. Full button closure (Front button placket) with horizontal button holes. The buttons are antique finish black coated buttons with engraved Studio D'artisan brand.
Storage : The Jacket has two external chest pockets. Classically-styled twin chest falp pockets with button. The twin chest pockets are slanted for easy access. The left side pocket has a brand label.
Collar : Corduroy collar. Shirt-style turn-down point collar.
Cuff type : Single button cuff. Cuff slit with bartack stitch reinforcement. Sleeve placket ( cuff slits ) let you take the jacket off and put it on easily.

Other details : The Jacket has classically-styled multiple panels design on front and back. The signature of the new fitted 101 jacket design included the zig-zag topstitching on the center front placket. Not just there for decoration, it reinforces the fabric. Buttoned cinch-waist side tabs (Both sides of the hem come with side button adjusters), allowing you to cinch the shape. Adjustable waistband with a short tab and two black plastic catseye buttons in the back instead of metal ones. This jacket has slanted front chest panel and multiple panels back design. It comes equipped with all the same iconic features it had back then: zigzag stitching on the placket, a waistband with cats eye adjustors, slanted twin chest pockets, faded stitching.

Lay the clothing flat and measure 3 cm under the armhole. Measure from side to side
Body Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from base of collar seam (excluding collar) down to the end of the hem
Sleeve Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from center back of base of collar seam to the end of the cuff
Shoulder Width
Lay the clothing flat and measure shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Lay Jeans/Pants flat, face up and do not stretch or pull fabric.
Waist
Measure flat across the back waistband from one side to the other with the natural dip. Double the number to get actual waist size.
Inseam
Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg on the inside seam.
