This men's casual sukajan (japanese souvenir jacket) is made in Japan and produced through a collaboration between the Buzz Rickson brand and the Tailor Toyo/Kosho Co. brand, both part of Toyo Enterprises. It combines Buzz Rickson's distinct military design with the traditional sukajan craftsmanship of Tailor Toyo/Ko-Sho, resulting in a unique line of clothing. This item symbolizes the fusion of craftsmanship and innovative design from both the Buzz Rickson and Tailor Toyo/Kosho Co. brands. The sukajan, often known as the Japanese souvenir jacket, has a rich history dating back to post-WWII Japan when American GIs stationed in Japan wanted unique mementos to bring back home. These jackets are typically recognized by their intricate, embroidered designs which often feature Japanese cultural icons such as dragons, tigers, and cherry blossoms, etc. They were originally intended to capture the cross-cultural experience of the American GIs in Japan. This item is a reproduction of a sukajan jacket owned by a soldier named Chuck, who was stationed with the U.S. Air Force's 334th Fighter Squadron at Chitose Base in Japan from 1955 to 1957. This jacket is fully reversible construction with embroidery on front and reverse side. The fabric of this jacket is made up of 2 layers. This jacket is constructed from a 100% cotton velveteen outer shell and 100% acetate quilted satin lining shell with cotton padding inside. It features fully reversible construction, front zip closure, raglan sleeves, wool knit ribbed sleeve ends/collar/waistband. This reversible jacket has embroidery work on both the front and back, and the embroidery is designed to vintage style of embroidery techniques, giving it a classic or retro aesthetic. The graphic on this velveteen souvenir jacket is based on the 334th Fighter Squadron Fighting Eagles and Japan Map. This product is in Japanese (Asian) size. Outer shell (front side) : This is a plush, soft fabric that mimics the texture of velvet but is made from cotton. It has a shorter pile than velvet, giving it a unique feel. Made of 100% cotton no-stretch velveteen fabric with a short dense pile on the face of the fabric for a distinctive soft feel.
Lining shell (reverse side) : Made of 100% acetate pre-faded diamond shape quilted satin. This jacket is brand new but, has been processed to give it a fashionable faded vintage feel. The fabric is produced with minimal tension and this satin offers a unique flowing drape, silky hand and subtle luster with a sophisticated wrinkles on the face of the fabric. Satin is a weave that has a glossy face and a soft, slippery texture. The satin fabric with sophisticated wrinkles and runs caused by pulls or snags gives it a true vintage feel. It is smooth and sleek so you can take the jacket off and put it on easily. Quilted design of this jacket have a diamond-shaped pattern stitched into the fabric. This stitching serves both a functional and aesthetic purpose.
Interlining (Insulation Type): Features 100% cotton fiber filling. The cotton fiber fill is sandwiched between the outer shell and the inner lining, providing warmth and protection from the cold. This lightly insulated jacket is ideal for fall and mild winter weather. It retains heat without the bulkiness of a traditional puffer jacket, making it perfect for layering in cooler temperatures. Suitable for mid-season wear or even winter with additional layers underneath.

Lay the clothing flat and measure from base of collar seam (excluding collar) down to the end of the hem
Sleeve Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from center back of base of collar seam to the end of the cuff
Shoulder Width
Lay the clothing flat and measure shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Lay Jeans/Pants flat, face up and do not stretch or pull fabric.
Waist
Measure flat across the back waistband from one side to the other with the natural dip. Double the number to get actual waist size.
Inseam
Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg on the inside seam.
