This men's casual jacket is made in Japan by TOYS McCOY, a brand renowned for its vintage-inspired apparel, accessories, and signature craftsmanship. Part of the TOYS McCOY Taxi Driver Official Licensed Collection, it is a faithful revival of the iconic movie costume - the tanker jacket worn by Robert De Niro as Travis Bickle in Taxi Driver. TOYS McCOY examined the actual movie costume in detail to recreate it with precision. The base garment was an authentic U.S. Army tanker jacket from World War II. In the film version, however, the original wool lining had been replaced with a lightly padded quilted satin lining made of a red rayon/cotton blend. The left-shoulder patch combined print, hand embroidery, and paint retouching applied with a marker-like medium. The right-chest patch was also hand embroidered on cavalry twill fabric normally used for military uniforms. Both patches were attached by hand stitching rather than machine sewing. On the back, "BICKLE, T" was stencil-printed slightly off-center to the left, with each letter unevenly aligned in height. For fit adjustments, the bi-swing back (action pleats) had been sewn shut, rendering them non-functional, and the sleeves had been shortened by removing and reattaching the ribbed cuffs to match De Niro's build. Every one of these details has been meticulously reproduced by TOYS McCOY in this licensed edition. This jacket is constructed with a two-layer fabric composition for both insulation and durability. The outer shell is made of high-density cotton twill in khaki, while the interior is fully lined with a lightly padded quilted satin made from a red rayon/cotton blend, providing moderate warmth. Key functional details include a front zipper closure with an internal storm flap for added wind protection, along with a two-ply wool knit stand collar in khaki, wool knit cuffs in green, and a wool knit waistband in khaki to ensure secure insulation at critical heat retention points. Two slanted slash pockets are positioned high on the front of the jacket rather than lower on the body. Outer Shell Fabric: Constructed of 100% cotton cavalry twill, characterized by its distinct diagonal grain. This is a non-stretch, tightly woven, high-density twill noted for its exceptional durability. Although the garment is new, the fabric has undergone a controlled processing treatment to produce a deliberately faded, vintage appearance. The material balances structural rigidity with a natural broken-in softness, enhancing both durability and wear comfort.
Body and Sleeve Lining: The lining is a rayon / cotton quilted satin in a red taffeta finish, extending through both the torso and sleeves. The quilted construction incorporates polyfill insulation between the layers. The smooth, lustrous surface of the satin facilitates easy donning and removal of the jacket.
Interlining / Insulation: The lining incorporates a lightweight polyester fiber fill. This synthetic insulation is engineered to effectively retain body heat and provide thermal protection, making the garment well-suited for fall and winter wear. It also allows for additional layering in severe weather conditions.
Placket Construction: Front closure is equipped with a TALON zipper. An interior wind flap is set behind the zipper to block air penetration through the placket.
Pocket Configuration: Two external, slanted single-welt hand-warmer pockets are integrated into the front panels.
Collar Construction: Two-ply wool rib-knit collar in a khaki color, engineered for elasticity and wind resistance.
Decoration / Identification Marks: Embroidered jump wings patch on the right chest executed on cavalry twill; King Kong Company patch on the left sleeve combining embroidery, print, and hand-painted detail; and “BICKLE.T” stencil applied to the back panel, offset left of the centerline.
Sleeve Construction: Set-in sleeve design. Cuffs in a green color are modified rib knits reattached after sleeve shortening, eliminating conventional seam lines at the cuff edge.

Additional Details: The right-chest patch, modeled after the U.S. Marine Corps Force Reconnaissance insignia, is embroidered on cavalry twill fabric and hand-stitched in place. The action pleats at the back, which normally allow for greater mobility, have been sewn shut. This modification is believed to have been made to suit Robert De Niro’s physique. The King Kong patch on the left sleeve combines hand embroidery, print, and hand-painting, and it too is hand-stitched onto the garment. At the cuffs, the ribbing has been reattached after the sleeves were shortened to match De Niro’s arm length, which is why the cuff seams show no visible stitching. On the back panel, the “BICKLE.T” stencil is printed slightly off-center to the left of the midline. In addition, the letters are not aligned evenly along the bottom edge. Because the jacket itself is an authentic 1940s original, the zipper is made by Talon - specifically the early-war Second Model “M-40.” The pocket bags remain unaltered, preserving their original wartime construction. The lining was replaced with quilting, and even the subtle tone of the fabric was faithfully matched against color chips for accuracy.
