This modern sashiko jacket is made in Japan and produced by Momotaro Jeans from Japan Blue. Momotaro Jeans is a modern denim label established in 2006, based in Kojima, Okayama, Japan, where is the birth place of Japanese domestic jeans. Momotaro Jeans's products are introduced Japanese craftsmanship into american classic clothing making. The pattern construction of this sashiko jacket is inspired by iconic US Navy submariner coat (submarine jacket) with classic design, but this indigo sashiko coat has been re-designed with the Momotaro Jeans's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Momotaro Jeans. This jacket is constructed of a 100% cotton Japanese indigo sashiko fabric outer shell with padded quilted satin lining that is comfortable. And this sashiko jacket features a front closure with seven urea buttons, convertible collar that can be worn spread or standing, two buttoned flap pockets with side entry hand-warmer. This product is made for Japanese market and made for Japanese clothing sizes. And this jacket is originally intended to wear as a Modern fit (Not too tight or Not loose) for a more fashion-forward looks. Outer shell fabric : 100% cotton Japanese sashiko fabric. This fabric is woven on specialized jacquard looms to recreate traditional Japanese sashiko fabric. This base fabric is woven with indigo color cotton fiber in warp and weft yarn, and then has been running-stitched with tonal thread on base fabric. Sashiko (little stabs or little pierce), a Japanese traditional running stitch technique, is originally used to reinforce fabric, but was also highly valued for its decorative beauty. Sashiko fabric is known for its unmatched durability, and is widely used in protective gear for Judo, Kendo, and Aikido arts. This fabric has an uneven surface and ruggedly texture from cotton fibers. It combines the toughness and the natural softness for comfort. And this jacket is washed once for the fashionable vintage feel and look. Pre washed, minimal shrinkage. And the fabric will develop a comfortable feeling and continue to get softer and cozier through repeated wear. And the more you wear, the more sahiko fabric will fade beautifully.
Lining shell for body and sleeves : Made of 100% polyester diamond quilted satin lining for the torso and sleeves. Full quilted taffeta lining with light polyfill insulation. The lining is smooth and sleek so you can take the jacket off and put it on easily.
Interlining (Type of insulation) : Inside lightweight polyester fiber filling. 100% lightweight polyester fiber fill sandwiched between the outer shell and lining shell to retains heat and protect you from the cold. Suitable for fall and winter seasons. Great for wearing winter with under layering.
Color : Deep blue indigo.
Placket type : 7 buttons on front opening. The buttons are vintage-style 4-hole urea buttons with horizontal button holes.
Collar : Convertible collar that can be worn spread or standing. A convertible stand-up collar. This collar can be worn spread or standing. A convertible collar make fastening easy with a button. When you turn-up the collar, will help throat chilling winds from entering the jacket neck area. You can also turn-down the collar like shirt-style collar.

Body Width (Half Chest)
Lay the clothing flat and measure 3 cm under the armhole. Measure from side to side
Body Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from base of collar seam (excluding collar) down to the end of the hem
Sleeve Length
Lay the clothing flat and measure from center back of base of collar seam to the end of the cuff
Shoulder Width
Lay the clothing flat and measure shoulder seam to shoulder seam
Lay Jeans/Pants flat, face up and do not stretch or pull fabric.
Waist
Measure flat across the back waistband from one side to the other with the natural dip. Double the number to get actual waist size.
Inseam
Measure from the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg on the inside seam.
