The MFSC collection, a collaboration between Mister Freedom and Sugar Cane, features a unique line of clothing that blends Mister Freedom's vintage-inspired designs with Sugar Cane's exceptional craftsmanship. This denim pea coat from the MFSC collection is co-produced by both brands and made in Japan. This item is made from Japanese denim with fully lining (beige corduroy for body & OG-107 sateen for arms) produced by Sugar Cane brand and combine the classic military style of a pea coat with the casual, rugged aesthetic of denim fabric. The construction pattern of this denim jacket is modeled after U.S. Navy wool peacoats from the 1910s-1920s with classic design, but this jean jacket has been re-designed with the Mister Freedom's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize fit for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from MFSC collection. This pea coat is constructed of a 14 Oz. rugged, neppy, hairy denim with sugar cane fibers blended in with wide wale corduroy lining on the body and cotton OG-107 sateen fabric on the sleeves. It features a double breasted front button closure (a total ten buttons in the front, two rows of buttons for closure with five buttons on each side), wide-sized notched lapel collar with a removable neck strap, four external pockets, two interior pockets, two back panels with a centre seam and with vents. This product is made for Japanese market and made for Japanese clothing sizes. And this Mister Freedom denim peacoat is designed with a slim fit, offering a more modern and fashionable silhouette compared to the traditional boxy cut of the classic pea coats. Outer shell : Sugar Cane Co original SC301 Okinawa fiber denim, 14 Oz., 50% cotton x 50% Okinawan recycled sugarcane fibers. Made from a non-stretch, 14 Oz. rugged, neppy, hairy, deep blue indigo denim with sugar cane fibers. And then this denim is pre-washed (one-washed) in the finishing process. Pre washed (one-washed), minimal shrinkage. The more you wear, the more denim will fade beautifully.
Lining shell : Fully lined (beige corduroy for body & OG-107 sateen for arms). The wide wale corduroy lining on the body adds warmth to this jacket, and cotton sateen lining on the sleeves is smooth and sleek so you can take the jacket off and put it on easily.
Type of insulation : No fill. unfilled unpadded non-padded, so the jacket is not bulky or puffy.
Placket type : A double breasted front button closure (a total ten buttons in the front, two rows of buttons for closure with five buttons on each side). 10 button front closure in pea coat style ( A single row of five anchor buttons ). The fronts are designed to fold over each other (double-breasted) and close with buttons. This design protects the wind from slipping through the front.
Button type : 13-star anchor buttons. Black urea buttons displaying an anchor surrounded by 13 stars; the 13 stars were derived from the original 13 states when the United States became an independent nation and broke its ties to England in 1776.
Collar type : The large-sized notched collar of the coat was designed to block strong ocean winds. The collar has a removable neck strap (storm flap underneath collar) to make fastening easy with a button. You can pop the collar to further protect from the cold. Concealed buttons under the collar fastens across the neck when the collars of the jacket are upturned. It is used to protect the wearer from wind or dust. You can also hide a neck strap (a chin strap, a throat tab) when not in use using a button inside. Two small anchor buttons concealed under the left side collar to keep the throat latch in place.
Back type : This pea coat has two large back panels with a centre seam and with vents at the bottom.
Cuff type : Unbanded cuffs for full range of motion.
Pocket : Two external vertical-side-entry hand warmer slash pockets lined with corduroy with black-color leather piping and arrowhead reinforcement on pocket edges. Two exterior flap pockets at the lower front section of the front. Two interior open-top pocket on inside both side.
