Studio D'artisan is a modern denim label established in 2006, This men's casual denim jacket is made in Japan and designed by Studio D'artisan (SDA Studio Dartisan). Inspired by the 1953 Type II Jacket, it replicates classic details while incorporating Japan's traditional dyeing techniques, including Awa Sho Ai Aizome (genuine natural indigo dyeing techniques from Tokushima, Japan) and with red natural plant dyeing extracted from madder. This jacket blends aesthetics of timeless design with the beauty of traditional Japanese dyeing techniques. Crafted from 100% cotton, the jacket features 15 oz. selvage denim fabric. The warp yarns are hand-dyed in a deep, rich blue using Japan's traditional indigo dyeing (Awa Sho Ai), while the weft yarns are dyed in red using madder plant dye. This combination gives the jacket a unique purplish-blue hue with a reddish tint, along with a distinctive, uneven, rugged, slubby, streaky appearance due to the textured slub yarn. As part of the finishing process, the jacket is pre-washed (one-wash) to minimize shrinkage and achieve a fashionable vintage look. It retains the classic type ii design but is enhanced with studio d'artisan's signature details, such as a front closure with five matte black-coated metal buttons engraved with the studio d'artisan logo, front and back yokes, stitched-down double pleats on the front, a pointed collar, twin flap chest pockets with button closures, single-button cuffs with rivet-reinforced slits, shallow rear side pleats below the back yoke for a clean silhouette, and adjustable buttoned tabs at the back hem. Inside the neck, you'll find a special leather patch commemorating studio d'artisan's 45th anniversary.
