These men's casual cargo pants are made in Japan by Buzz Rickson, a brand renowned for its military-inspired clothing under Toyo Enterprises. They are a faithful reproduction of the U.S. Army M-1951 Field Trousers, originally issued in 1951 and worn during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Buzz Rickson has carefully recreated the vintage look and authentic details of these trousers, ensuring historical accuracy and a nostalgic appeal. With Buzz Rickson's expert craftsmanship, these pants offer a timeless design paired with modern durability. This fabric is made from 100% cotton, non-stretch, heavyweight back satin (satin-backed cloth). It is densely woven, giving it a firm, structured feel and exceptional durability. Both the warp and weft yarns are dyed olive and woven into a back satin structure. The back sateen fabric of these pants has a distinctive horizontal woven texture, with the weave grain pattern of the lines running across the surface. As part of the finishing process, the garment is pre-washed (also known as one-wash) to minimize shrinkage. These pants are a faithful reproduction of the M-1951 Field Trousers and include the following details: two hand pockets, two back pockets, and two leg cargo pockets - all of which are flap pockets secured with snap buttons. Suspender buttons are attached to the exterior of the waistband, and adjustable buckle tabs at the waist allow for a customized fit. There are cord loops on the top and inside of the waist for hook-type suspenders, as well as button tabs on the inside of the waist for attaching an optional liner. Additionally, these pants feature seven belt loops, pleated knees, small loops in the crotch for securing leg ties, leg ties stored in each cargo pocket, and internal drawstrings at the hems. Please note that these pants are a shell only and do not come with a liner for cold weather or suspenders. Front Closure Type : Zip fly.
Storage : The pants have six exterior pockets. Two slant hand pockets on front. Two pockets on back. Two cargo pockets on each leg. All pockets are covered by a flap that fastens with a hidden snap-down button. Leg ties on the cargo leg pockets which can be stored inside the leg pocket. The leg cargo pockets have buttonhole slit (button hole style embroidery eyelet ) and the leg ties can be pulled out from the slit. Tie cargo pocket around each leg, and through loops found in crotch area, to prevent pocket content from shifting. When straps are not required, pull straps back inside cargo pockets. That leg strap was put there to tie around the thigh through that crotch loop to keep the pants from sagging when you loaded the pockets up with ammoor food or whatever.
Other details : * Please note that these pants are a shell alone and do not come with a liner for cold weather or suspenders. Pleated Knee to allow for ease of movement and comfort. Small loops in crotch for the leg ties. Button tabs on the inside of the waist for the optional field-trouser liner. Side adjustable buckle tabs on back of waistband to allow for decreasing the waist size. Side adjustable buckle tabs cannot be not used to make pantss larger at the waist, only smaller. Bar tack reinforcements on front pocket stress points. Seven belt loops for better support of your belt. Main seams are double-stitched for durability.
The label on the inside states the following.
1. WEAR OVER TROUSERS, FIELD, WOOL, AS THE OUTER GARMENT COMBINATION IN THE COLD-WET UNIFORM. WEAR ALONE IN MILD WEATHER.
2. WEAR WITH THE TROUSER-LINER, FIELD (BUTTON-IN) AS THE INTERMEDIATE GARMENT IN THE COLD-DRY UNIFORM.
3. FOR TROUSER SUSPENSION, HANG WAIST LOOPS ON SUSPENDER HOOKS.
4. ADJUST WAIST SIZE BY TABS ON SIDE OF WAISTBAND.
5. TIGHTEN WAISTBAND TABS AND CUFF CLOSURES FOR WARMTH-LOOSEN TO VENTILATE. AVOID OVER- HEATING TO PREVENT CHILLING AFTER EXERCISE.
6. WEAR TROUSER CUFFS OUTSIDE OF FOOTGEAR WITH DRAWSTRINGS TIED TO PREVENT ENTRY OF SNOW OR RAIN.
7. BRUSH SNOW AND FROST FROM GARMENTS BEFORE ENTERING HEATED SHELTERS.
8. DRY TROUSERS SHELL AND TROUSERS LINER SEPARATELY.
9. DO NOT DRY TOO CLOSE TO HEAT.
10. TIE CARGO POCKET STRAPS AROUND LEG TO PREVENT CONTENTS FROM SHIFTING AND CHAFING SKIN. WHEN STRAPS ARE NOT REQUIRED, PULL STRAPS BACK INSIDE CARGO POCKETS THROUGH HOLE ON SIDE OF POCKET.
