This men's casual naturally plant-dyed denim jacket is proudly made in Japan by Studio D'artisan (SDA Studio Dartisan), a brand renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship. Inspired by the classic 1953 Type II Jacket, this jacket characterized by their rugged 16-ounce super-slub denim, which has been dyed using Kakishibu-zome (persimmon tannin dyeing), a traditional Japanese dyeing technique. The Kakishibu-zome process gives the jacket a unique, naturally reddish-brown hue, enhanced by their textured, slubby, and uneven finish. With a timeless design and slub denim dyed using kakishibu-zome, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique, this jacket seamlessly blends traditional artistry and heritage craftsmanship with contemporary casual style. This jacket is made from non-stretch, 16-ounce, 100% cotton selvedge super-slub denim with a right-hand twill construction. During the weaving process, the warp yarn is crafted by combining thick slub yarn and nep yarn of varying thicknesses, while the weft yarn features an even thicker super-slub yarn. For dyeing, the warp yarn is carefully hand-dyed by skilled artisans using the traditional Japanese technique called Kakishibu-zome (Persimmon Tannin Dyeing), while the weft yarn remains undyed. Woven on a power loom, this combination results in uniquely textured denim with a reddish-brown hue. The fabric showcases an intensely uneven, rugged, and slubby character, rich in nep, with vertical streaks and tiny tufts of white yarn protruding from the weave's surface. As part of the finishing process, the garment is pre-washed (also known as one-wash) to minimize shrinkage and enhance comfort. And the more you wear, the more fabric will fade beautifully.
