Samurai Jeans Indigo Sashiko Shirt Men's Casual Indigo Plaid with Sashiko Stitch Long Sleeve Work Shirt SKN24-01
Samurai Jeans
This men's casual long-sleeve button up shirt is made in Japan and designed and produced by Samurai Jeans. It is a long-sleeved work-style shirt that incorporates dobby fabric that combines indigo plaid patterns with sashiko stitching, designed to replicate the look and texture of traditional Japanese textiles. Samurai Jeans seamlessly combines the classic details and elements of a vintage work shirt with a unique fabric that features an indigo plaid pattern accented by sashiko running stitches. This indigo sashiko shirt combines nostalgic charm with Samurai Jeans's craftsmanship, offering a timeless design, high-quality materials, modern durability, and a casual yet stylish look. Made from 100% cotton, unlined, non-stretch, heavyweight sashiko fabric that is comfortable for casual everyday use. This fabric is woven on specialized dobby looms to recreate the texture and feel of traditional Japanese sashiko fabric. It combines thick yarns in both light and deep indigo shades with thick natural off-white yarns. These are woven into a plaid pattern and further enhanced with sashiko running stitches. The raised and uneven effects created by the sashiko stitching add a three-dimensional texture to the fabric. At first glance, the pattern appears to feature vertical multi-stripes, but upon closer inspection, you will notice faint horizontal stripes as well, forming a complex and irregular plaid design. As part of the finishing process, the garment is pre-washed (also known as one-wash) to minimize shrinkage. It features a front button closure with six indigo-dyed corozo nut buttons, regular collar with a throat latch, reinforced elbow patches for added durability, single-button cuffs with cuff slits, set-in sleeves, two chest pockets with button closure, a back yoke, a rounded shirttail with side gussets, and three pairs of twisted threads-runnoff that extend and hang from the side seams on the hem. Fabric : Sashiko, which means "little stabs" or "little pierce," is a traditional Japanese running stitch technique originally used to reinforce fabric. It was also highly valued for its decorative beauty. The raised and indented effects produced by the stitches, adding depth and dimension to the fabric. Sashiko fabric is known for its unmatched durability and is widely used in protective gear for Judo, Kendo, and Aikido. It combines toughness with natural softness for comfort. With wear, the sashiko fabric will fade beautifully, enhancing its character. It can be worn on its own or as a base layer under a jacket, making it versatile for various styles and occasions.

Indigo-Dyed Garment Care
This garment, dyed with indigo, may transfer color to other surfaces, especially when new. To reduce this, pair it with dark clothing, wash separately, and be cautious around light-colored items and furniture. Indigo dye may transfer if damp or exposed to friction, so take extra care on rainy days. Avoid prolonged sunlight to prevent fading; dry in the shade. Expect natural fading over time, enhancing the garment's unique character.
