This men's long-sleeve crew neck sweatshirt is made in Japan by TOYS McCOY. Drawing on the construction and proportions of classic American athletic wear, this model combines vintage-inspired sweatshirt details with a bowling-themed Felix the Cat "Strike Again" graphic. The 14.8 oz. extra heavyweight fabric is knitted from 100% cotton and brushed on the reverse, giving it substantial thickness, a weighty feel, and an insulating inner surface. A tubular body without side seams, a rib-knit binder neckline, double-layer V inserts at the front and back, set-in sleeves, extended rib-knit cuffs and waistband, and four-needle flatseams define its construction. The unwashed finish preserves the fabric's firm initial character, which develops further as the cotton knit settles through laundering. Moderate room through the chest and torso, a relatively short body, and a ribbed lower edge create a classic athletic silhouette, while the character graphic adds a playful accent to everyday casual clothing and vintage-inspired outfits.

Size and Fit Guide:

Gender: Men.

This sweatshirt has a classic athletic fit, combining moderate room through the chest and torso with a relatively short body length. The shoulders are proportioned without excessive width, and the set-in sleeves establish defined sleeve attachment points around the shoulders. The overall balance is comfortably roomy without being deliberately oversized.

The main body follows a relatively straight line from the chest toward the waistband, with little inward shaping through the torso. The more elastic rib-knit waistband draws the lower opening closer around the waist, allowing the substantial body fabric to gather slightly above it. This produces the softly rounded lower silhouette associated with classic athletic sweatshirts. Rib-knit cuffs similarly bring the sleeve openings closer around the wrists.

The garment is supplied unwashed. Its extra heavyweight fabric already has substantial thickness and a firm, full-bodied hand before laundering. As the cotton knit settles and contracts through washing, the stitches draw closer together and the fabric becomes denser, developing a more substantial feel while retaining the natural suppleness of cotton. Some dimensional change may occur during this process. Width tends to change comparatively little, while body length may shorten slightly. The amount of change depends on how the garment is washed and dried, so please take possible shrinkage into account when assessing fit.

Actual fit will vary with body shape, the thickness of any layers worn underneath, and personal preference. Please lay a similar sweatshirt that fits you well flat and compare its chest width, body length, center-back sleeve length, shoulder-to-cuff sleeve length, and shoulder width with the measurements below. These measurements provide a reference for the garment in its laid-flat state; the rib-knit cuffs and waistband stretch and recover with the body and its movements during wear.

Our model wears Tagged Size M. He is 175 cm / approximately 5'9" tall, weighs 59 kg / approximately 130 lbs, and has a 91 cm / approximately 36" chest. For reference, he normally wears a US/EU size S/36.

The following measurements show the garment itself, not your body measurements. Width is the flat measurement across the garment and represents half of the garment's chest circumference, not the full circumference or the wearer's chest size.

[How We Measure the Actual Garment]

Width (Chest Width / Half Chest): Lay the garment flat and measure straight across from side to side, approximately 3cm (about 1.2 in.) below the underarms.

Length (Body Length): Measured from the base of the back collar, where the collar joins the body, straight down to the bottom of the hem, including the rib-knit waistband. The height of the collar is not included.

Sleeve (Center-Back Sleeve Length): The first sleeve measurement is taken from the center back at the base of the collar seam, across the shoulder, and down to the end of the cuff, including the full rib-knit cuff.

Sleeve in Parentheses (Sleeve Length from Shoulder Seam): The sleeve measurement shown in parentheses is taken from the top of the shoulder seam straight down to the end of the cuff, including the full rib-knit cuff.

Shoulder (Shoulder Width): Measured straight across the back from the outer edge of one shoulder seam to the outer edge of the other.

Made in Japan.

14.8 oz. Extra Heavyweight 100% Cotton Sweatshirt Fabric
The sweatshirt is made from 14.8 oz. extra heavyweight fabric knitted from 100% cotton. The material has substantial thickness and a distinctly weighty feel, giving the body and sleeves a firm, full-bodied structure even before the garment has been washed.

Fine vertical columns of knit stitches are visible on the outer surface. The natural character of the yarn and slight irregularities in the knitted surface give the face a subtly uneven texture, recalling the straightforward appearance of vintage athletic sweatshirts.

Brushed Reverse for Warmth
The reverse of the sweatshirt fabric is brushed to raise a soft layer of fibers on the inside. This gives the inner surface a different texture from the more clearly defined knit stitches visible on the exterior.

The raised fibers hold air close to the body, while the thickness of the underlying knit provides additional substance. Together, the brushed reverse and heavyweight construction contribute to the fabric's insulating character. The warmth comes from the sweatshirt fabric itself and its brushed inner surface.

Circular-Knit Tubular Body Without Side Seams
The torso is knitted as a continuous tube on a circular knitting machine. This tubular construction creates a body without vertical seams running down either side, avoiding the separate front-to-back joins used along the sides of many cut-and-sewn tops.

Because there are no side seams, there are also no corresponding seam allowances or overlapping fabric edges along the sides of the torso. This is particularly useful with a fabric of this thickness, as it limits the extra bulk and raised ridges that could otherwise form where the front and back panels meet. The construction leaves a smooth, uninterrupted transition around the sides of the body.

Unwashed Finish and Changes Through Laundering
The completed garment has not been washed during production. In this unwashed state, the extra heavyweight cotton knit already has a firm, substantial hand, with enough body to give the sweatshirt a defined outline.

As the cotton and knitted structure settle and contract through laundering, the stitches draw closer together and the fabric becomes more compact. Its feel develops toward a denser, more substantial texture while retaining the natural suppleness of cotton. This change in density is part of the way the unwashed knit develops with washing.

The same process can affect the garment's dimensions. Width tends to show comparatively little change, while body length may shorten slightly. This is a tendency rather than a fixed shrinkage allowance, and the amount of dimensional change will depend on washing and drying conditions. Warm or hot water and machine drying can encourage greater shrinkage or distortion, so please hand wash gently according to the attached care label, reshape, and air dry in the shade.

Rib-Knit Binder Crew Neck with Double Stitching
The crew neck is finished with a separate rib-knit binding that wraps around the cut edge of the body fabric. The binding encloses the neckline edge from both the outside and inside, holding the cut edge between its folded sections.

Two rows of stitching secure the binding to the body. This arrangement reinforces the neckline on both faces and supports the edge as the opening stretches during dressing and undressing.

The combination of the surrounding rib-knit binding and double stitching helps limit stretching out, waviness, and distortion at the neck. It provides a supported opening that is better able to retain its defined crew-neck shape through repeated wear.

Double-Layer V Inserts at the Front and Back
A V-shaped rib-knit insert is positioned below the neckline on both the front and back. Often described as a double-V detail, this arrangement gives the sweatshirt the characteristic inset construction associated with vintage athletic wear when viewed from either direction.

Each insert is made from V-shaped pieces of rib knit layered together to form a double thickness and incorporated into the body below the neck. The V is therefore a separate fabric component with its own edges and joining seams, rather than a shape indicated only by decorative stitching across the surface. The change from the main sweatshirt knit to the rib-knit insert is visible as part of the garment's construction.

Extended Flatseam at the Point of Each V Insert
The stitching at the lower point of the V insert has a distinctive arrangement. Instead of both joining lines ending symmetrically at the point, one side of the flatseam continues downward for a short distance beyond it.

This extension produces a stitch line resembling a lowercase "y." The visible continuation emphasizes how the insert is joined to the body and gives the neckline area the utilitarian stitching character associated with vintage athletic garments.

Set-In Sleeves with Single-Panel Sleeve Construction
The long sleeves use a conventional set-in construction. A shaped sleeve cap is sewn into each body armhole, establishing a defined attachment line around the shoulder and creating a natural transition from the shoulder into the sleeve.

Each sleeve is formed from a single fabric panel joined along its underside to create a tube. This under-sleeve seam closes the sleeve lengthwise, while the shaped upper section connects it to the torso. Together, these joins give the sweatshirt the clearly outlined shoulder construction of a classic set-in athletic sweatshirt.

Extended Double-Layer Rib-Knit Cuffs
The cuffs are made from separate rib-knit components. Each cuff is folded back on itself to form a double layer and then sewn to the end of the main sweatshirt sleeve, creating a substantial ribbed finish around the wrist.

The rib knit has more stretch than the body fabric. It allows the opening to fit comfortably around the wrist and respond to arm movement while helping prevent the sleeve end from spreading open excessively.

The cuffs are longer than those on a typical contemporary sweatshirt, covering a greater area around the wrists. This extended length helps limit the entry of cool air through the sleeve openings and contributes to the distinctive proportions of vintage-inspired athletic wear.

Extended Rib-Knit Waistband
The lower body is finished with a separately attached rib-knit waistband, proportioned with an extended depth that complements the long cuffs. Its broad band construction covers a greater area around the waist, while the stretch of the rib knit allows it to sit closer to the body than the main sweatshirt fabric.

The waistband helps hold the lower edge near the waist. Because the body fabric is roomier than the ribbed opening, a small amount of fabric gathers above the band, producing the gently rounded lower silhouette characteristic of classic sweatshirts.

The longer waistband is both a visual and functional detail. It establishes the sweatshirt's vintage-inspired body-to-rib proportions, helps stabilize the hem position, and reduces the open space through which cool air can enter from below.

Four-Needle Flatseam Construction
The major garment components are joined using a four-needle flatseamer. The resulting flatseams keep the fabric junctions comparatively level and reduce the raised seam allowances and localized thickness that can occur inside conventionally sewn joins.

This construction is used at major joining areas including the shoulders, armholes, under-sleeve seams, V inserts, cuffs, and waistband. Each of these areas brings substantial fabric components together, making the seam profile especially relevant to how the inside of the garment feels against the body.

Keeping these joins relatively flat helps control bulky ridges at the garment's assembly points. The sweatshirt can therefore retain the thickness of its extra heavyweight fabric while limiting the additional bulk created by the seams themselves.

Visible Stitch Lines That Outline the Garment's Construction
The four-needle flatseams are visible on the exterior as well as serving to join the components. Their stitch lines follow the boundaries between the body, sleeves, inserts, and rib-knit parts, making these construction changes visible from the outside.

This gives the garment a restrained structural accent in addition to its front graphic. The lines that shape its appearance are the working seams of the sweatshirt, so the stitching provides a visible expression of how the individual parts are assembled.

Felix the Cat "Strike Again" Bowling Graphic
The front features a bowling-themed Felix the Cat graphic. "FELIX THE CAT" lettering arches above the illustration, with "STRIKE AGAIN" placed below it. This arrangement frames the character image between the upper and lower lettering.

The combination of character artwork and lettering recalls the playful appearance of vintage printed sweatshirts. Set against the substantial cotton knit and visible construction details, the graphic adds a distinct focal point to the classic athletic design.

Print Character Across the Front V-Insert Seam
The front print extends across the junction between the V insert and the surrounding body fabric. In this area, the printed surface crosses both a seam and the change between the rib-knit insert and the main sweatshirt knit.

The differences in surface height and fabric texture result in uneven coverage and lightly broken or faded-looking areas within the print around the seam. These irregularities are an intended characteristic of the product's finish. Please be aware of this detail when viewing the graphic at close range.
