Outer shell : Made of 100% heavy nylon twill in a olive-drab color. It is highly dense and extremely durable, offering the perfect blend of durability and natural softness for comfort. The premium nylon fabric has a smooth, soft feel and a rich hue with a beautiful, sophisticated luster.

Lining shell for body and sleeves : The body and sleeves of this jacket are fully lined with 100% nylon. The lining is smooth and sleek, making it easy to put on and take off the jacket.

Interlining (Type of insulation ) : This jacket is insulated with a pile, providing excellent warmth. The inside padding consists of 58% wool and 42% cotton blend pile fiber fill, sandwiched between the outer shell and the inner lining. This design helps retain heat and protect you from the cold, making it perfect for fall and winter.

Types of garment closure (Placket type) : The jacket has an offset front zip closure with a zigzag-stitched internal storm flap. A heavy-duty TALON zipper closure with an internal storm flap that has zig-zag stitching. This storm flap, located behind the zipper, prevents wind from getting through. The front fastener includes a durable zipper with a zip tape made of all-cotton HBT fabric. Additionally, a horsehide leather pull tab on the zipper allows for easy use, even while wearing gloves.

Collar type : Gorgeous, plush, genuine mouton-fur collar. A concealed throat latch (fur-padded button-tab storm flap) is located under left collar. And two concealed buttons under the right collar allow the throat latch under the left collar to be buttoned across the neck. This throat latch is used for in foul weather to provide added protection to the lower part of the face with the collar-upturned. You can also hide a neck strap (a chin strap, a throat tab) with throat tab keeper button underneath left collar, when you do not use a throat tab.

Pocket : The jacket includes multiple pockets for convenience: Two exterior slanted single welt snap-closure pockets, lined with warm double-faced brushed fabric. Two interior vertical side-entry snap-closure pockets, lined with unbleached cotton drill. A zippered cigarette pocket on the left sleeve, outfitted with four pen/pencil slots (utility pocket), and a leather pull tab on the zipper.

Cuff type : The cuffs are made from double-layered worsted wool, featuring a fine weave that gradually transitions to a narrower weave towards the bottom.

About B-15

The B-15 series is a successor model that was developed as an improvement to the cotton-made B-10, which debuted in 1943. Starting from the mid-1940s and toward the end of the war, the Type B-15 (olive cotton shell with alpaca lining) underwent several enhancements, leading to the B-15A (olive cotton shell with alpaca lining and offset zipper), B-15B (olive nylon with insulation), B-15C (Air Force blue nylon with insulation), and B-15D (sage green nylon with insulation). Additionally, the B-15 series featured a modified version (MOD.) where the mouton collar was removed from the body and replaced with a wool rib-knit collar, which later became the base for the MA-1.

This product is a reproduction model of the B-15B, one of the models in the B-15 series. In the previous B-15A model, the oxygen mask hose tabs on the chest were positioned as two triangular tabs, but in the B-15B, this was changed to a single rectangular tab. Furthermore, the left sleeve pocket, which previously held only pens, was upgraded with a zipper pocket for added functionality, transforming it into a pocket for both cigarettes and pens. The lining of the B-15A featured exposed alpaca pile, but starting with the B-15B, the insulation material was covered with a nylon lining. This improvement not only prevented pile shedding and moth damage but also enhanced the comfort and smoothness when wearing the jacket.
