These modern Japanese denim jeans are made in Japan and produced by Momotaro Jeans from Japan Blue. Momotaro Jeans is a modern denim label established in 2006, based in Kojima, Okayama, Japan, where is the birth place of Japanese domestic jeans. Momotaro Jeans's products are introduced Japanese craftsmanship and contemporary elements into american classic clothing making. The pattern construction of these jeans is modeled after American vintage Jeans with classic design, but these jean pants have been re-designed with the Momotaro Jeans's brand own detailing, contemporary interpretation and modernize wide-cut for a more casual look and fashion purpose. The beauty of this piece is the balance of classic construction and modern updates from Momotaro Jeans. Made of a 100% Zimbabwe grown cotton, unlined, single-ply, non-stretch, pre-washed (one-washed) 15.7 Oz. medium weight Japanese selvage deep blue indigo denim, that features a right-hand twill construction with sanforization, anti-twist and singeing in the finishing process. And these modern jeans are cut to wear as a stylish relaxed straight fit, button fly, high rise, straight to the leg opening (slightly taper down to the leg opening) and classic five-pocket design for a more fashion-forward. These Momotaro classic fitting straight leg jeans feature high-waisted rise and wider-cut (a looser and roomier silhouette but not too baggy) through the seat/hip/thigh/ leg opening than regular fit jeans have. Momotaro Jeans has made the fit more modern styles compared with vintage examples, making it more fashionable for casual look. These pants are new original creations by Momotaro Jeans.

Fabric Type : Made of a 100% Zimbabwe grown cotton unlined, single-ply, non-stretch, pre-washed (one-washed) 15.7 Oz. medium weight Japanese selvage deep blue indigo denim, that features a right-hand twill construction with sanforization, anti-twist and singeing in the finishing process. Sanforized, singed and unti-twist process will help reduce shrinkage, reduce hairy fibers on the denim surface, and minimize leg twisting. Indigo yarn of this denim is dyed using the rope-dyeing technique. The outside of the yarn, which is repeatedly dyed using the indigo rope-dyeing technique, is dyed a deep indigo color, while the core of yarn does not absorb much dye and remains white. And the outside of indigo colored yarn fades through repeated wear and washing and the white core of yarn becomes more prominent. As a result, the high contrast between the faded blue and the white core gives a classic worn-in denim look. And this denim fabric is processed by singeing (gassing) to remove the hairy fibers on the surface. And this denim is woven by the vintage shuttle loom. As a result, the denim features a rugged, slubby and neppy look that have a rough texture like the denims of vintage workwear which cannot be replicated by any other contemporary industrial looms. The denim is even tough, yet it remains a natural softness for comfort. A white/pink line selvedge details ID can be seen along the interior outseam and inside coin pocket opening. These jeans are washed once. Pre washed, minimal shrinkage. And the more you wear, the more denim will fade beautifully.

Pocket : Two embossed copper riveted scoop hand pockets in front. One embossed copper riveted coin pocket in front. Two open-top patch pocket with concealed rivets in back both side. Cotton plaid fabric is used for the front pocket bags. Yellow decorative stitching on right back pocket.
Button type : Metal buttons with engraved Peach design.
Other details : "Going to battle" double white stripes symbol printing on right side back pocket. Five belt loops for better support of your belt. Sheepskin leather patch sewn on back-right-side waistband. The rivets are made of copper with the underside of the front and back pocket rivets marked a peach Japanese family crest design. In-seams are sewn with pink stitching. The pink selvedge and stitching is one of the common features of Momotaro denim. The pink (peach) color has come to represent both the region of Okayama (which is known for peaches) and the peach from the Japanese folklore store of "Momotaro".
