TOYS McCOY
This men's B-15C flight jacket is made in Japan by TOYS McCOY, a brand renowned for its vintage-inspired craftsmanship. Part of TOYS McCOY's U.S. Air Force collection, this jacket is a faithful reproduction of the Type B-15C flying jacket (bomber jacket) that was originally issued in the early 1950s during the Korean War era and produced by Albert Turner & Co., Inc., a historic U.S. military contractor that supplied garments to the U.S. Armed Forces. Expertly crafted with the brand's signature attention to detail, it recreates the authentic specifications and rugged character of classic American military jackets, while blending seamlessly into today's casual style and bridging heritage aesthetics with modern wearability. This jacket is built with a three-layer construction for warmth and comfort. The outer shell is made from 100% nylon in a classic Air Force blue shade, with a deep, refined sheen and a smooth, supple feel. The interior is fully lined with smooth nylon to reduce friction against your inner layers when putting the jacket on or taking it off. Between the outer shell and the lining, a layer of 100% wool-pile padding provides insulation without making the jacket feel overly bulky. Key features include a genuine sheepskin mouton fur collar with an integrated throat latch sewn to the back side of the left folded collar, designed to fasten across the neck for added wind protection and period-accurate functionality. The jacket also includes wool knit cuffs and a wool knit waistband, which help retain warmth and provide natural stretch for ease of movement. The front has a zipper closure, and the zipper slider is finished with a leather pull tab for easier operation. Along the back of the zipper placket, there is a zigzag-stitched internal storm flap for improved wind resistance and historical accuracy. For practical use and storage, the jacket is equipped with two slanted-entry snap-closure handwarmer pockets at the waist, a zippered utility pocket with four pen or pencil slots on the left sleeve, and a pair of vertical side-entry snap-closure interior pockets, one on each side. Additional authentic details include a U.S. Air Forces insignia printed on the left sleeve, a rectangular nylon oxygen mask tab positioned along the zipper near the left chest, and two snap-down radio wire tabs located near the underarm area, all hallmark design elements faithfully reproduced from the original B-15C jackets. This item is offered in Japanese (Asian) sizing, which generally runs slightly smaller than standard U.S. and European sizes. As a general guide, a tagged Japan size 38 typically corresponds to a U.S./EU size S-M (approximately 36-38 in garment sizing). The jacket features a well-balanced regular fit that updates the looser silhouette often seen on vintage B-15C jackets into a cleaner, more modern profile. This refined fit makes the jacket easier to style with contemporary casual outfits while still preserving the character of the original military design. This model is a newly released item from TOYS McCOY that combines vintage-inspired aesthetics with the brand's signature craftsmanship.

Outer Shell: High density 100% nylon flight cloth in a classic Air Force blue shade. The fabric is tightly woven for durability and wind resistance, with a deep, refined sheen and a smooth, supple hand that closely echoes the look and feel of vintage U.S. Air Force flight jackets.
Lining (Body and Sleeves): Body and sleeves are fully lined with smooth 100% nylon that is designed to glide easily over your base and mid layers. This lining reduces friction when putting the jacket on or taking it off and helps maintain comfort during movement.
Insulation (Interlining): A layer of 100% wool pile insulation is sandwiched between the outer shell and the lining. This natural fiber fill traps warm air effectively for thermal performance, providing substantial warmth without making the jacket feel stiff or overly bulky. Front Closure : This jacket features a heavy-duty front zipper backed by a zigzag-stitched internal storm flap that helps block wind from penetrating through the closure. The zipper is set on a durable cotton Herringbone Twill (HBT) tape for added strength and is finished with a horsehide leather pull tab, making it easier to operate even while wearing gloves.
Collar Construction: Genuine mouton-fur panel collar made from 100% sheepskin, providing thermal insulation and natural wind resistance. A fixed, non-removable throat latch (chin strap) with a buttonhole is sewn to the underside of the folded-over left side of the collar. On the opposite right underside, two horizontally aligned buttons allow a two-position closure. This configuration lets the wearer stand the collar upright and fasten the throat latch at either setting for adjustable protection against wind and cold. When not in use, the throat latch can be neatly secured to a keeper button on the inside of the left collar, keeping it out of the way and preserving a clean, streamlined appearance.
Pockets: Designed for both functionality and comfort, this jacket features two slanted single-welt handwarmer pockets on the front, each secured with a snap closure and lined with soft double-faced brushed fabric for added warmth; two vertical interior pockets with snap closures lined in unbleached cotton drill for durability; and a utility pocket on the left sleeve with a zipper closure, four pen or pencil slots, and a leather zipper pull tab, ideal for carrying small tools or everyday essentials.
Cuffs and Waistband: The cuffs and waistband are knit from 100% wool ribbing that provides both stretch and thermal retention. Each is constructed in a folded, double-layer configuration to help prevent cold air from entering through the openings. On the cuffs, the rib knit transitions from a finer (higher-gauge) texture at the edge to a slightly coarser (lower-gauge) knit toward the base, creating a secure yet flexible fit that effectively seals out wind and cold.
Pattern: Solid-color design accented with an authentic U.S. Air Forces insignia printed on the left sleeve. An additional USAF transfer print is placed beneath the manufacturer's neck label on the inside lining.
Sleeves : Set-in sleeve construction with full-length arms. The armholes are cut slightly trimmer under the arms to create a more modern silhouette.

Additional Details : A rectangular oxygen mask tab made from nylon is sewn vertically along the front zipper near the left chest. This tab is designed to secure an oxygen mask retainer clip, as found on original military flight jackets. In addition, two snap-down radio wire tabs are positioned beneath each arm to manage and secure headset and microphone wiring leads, helping to prevent entanglement during use.

About the B-15 Flight Jacket Series
・The B-15 series represents a pivotal stage in the evolution of U.S. Army Air Forces flight jackets, introduced as the successor to the earlier B-10 model, which had been adopted around 1943. The initial Type B-15, adopted in the mid-1940s during World War II, featured an olive drab cotton twill outer shell paired with an alpaca-wool pile lining.
・Over time, the B-15 was incrementally refined into several sub-models to meet the evolving needs of aircrew and to reflect technological advancements in aviation:
・B-15A: Maintained the same cotton-and-alpaca construction but introduced an offset zipper configuration, designed to reduce interference with oxygen masks and flight harnesses.
・B-15B: Marked the transition to synthetic materials, utilizing an olive drab nylon outer shell with a wool-cotton pile insulation layer. This construction provided improved water resistance and reduced weight while retaining reliable thermal performance.
B・-15C: Further standardized with a U.S. Air Force "Air Force Blue" nylon shell, following the establishment of the independent U.S. Air Force in 1947.
・B-15D: The final variant in the series, featuring a sage green nylon shell with a pile insulation layer. This color aligned with updated U.S. Air Force uniform specifications introduced in the early 1950s.
・Additionally, the B-15 series served as the developmental platform for the Modified (MOD) variants, which eliminated the mouton fur collar and replaced it with a wool knit collar. This modification reduced bulk and improved compatibility with pilot helmets and communication gear, ultimately leading to the development of the iconic MA-1 flight jacket.

Aftercare for TOYS McCOY's Flight Jackets (Cotton & Nylon)
・Washing, tumble drying, or dry cleaning is not recommended for TOYS McCOY's flight jackets. These garments are made using a variety of natural materials to ensure authentic reproduction, and improper cleaning methods can cause serious damage or distortion to the overall shape.
・Each jacket combines several materials that are sensitive to water and heat-such as mouton collars, wool-pile or alpaca-mohair linings, and wool ribbing at the cuffs, hem, and collar, as well as leather parts. Exposure to moisture or high temperatures may cause shrinkage, warping, or other permanent changes.
・Please also note that some models feature an "Air Force" insignia applied with heat transfer film, faithfully reproduced using special ink identical to the original. Dry cleaning may cause this mark to fade or disappear completely.
・If the jacket becomes heavily soiled, the safest method is to wipe the surface gently with a soft cloth dampened with diluted neutral detergent. Always test on an inconspicuous area first, as discoloration or uneven fading may occur.
