The woven denim, once tailored into a jacket, is repeatedly dyed by craftsmen's hands using "Amami Dorozome" (a traditional Japanese mud-dyeing technique). By layering the mud-dye, the indigo yarns are transformed into a profound and richly textured jet black. This process gives the jacket a deep, nuanced black color with hints of blue and brown, setting it apart from a uniform, solid black. As part of the finishing process, the garment is pre-washed (also known as one-wash) to minimize shrinkage and enhance comfort.
